Radio Carmarthenshire Market Winners

2nd March 2015

We have some fantastic news. Today we found out that Penygaer School won the Carmarthenshire Markets radio competition.

A few weeks ago everyone in years 5 & 6 wrote a short script to enter the competition. The school council decided that James Martin's entry should represent the school. Thankfully his script got the school into the final six schools in Carmarthenshire.

Four pupils (Aimee Holborn, James Martin, Aimee Jones-Haddock and Abigail Pike) then had the privilege of recording a 40 second advert to compete against the other schools.

Today the children went to Llanelli Market to find out if they were successful. They were interviewed by Carmarthenshire/Scarlets FM and it was announced live on the radio station that they had won the English Advert.

Their advert will now be heard regularly on the radio all over Carmarthenshire to advertise and persuade you to support our local markets, so listen out for our children. Well done children we are really proud of your achievement.

Here is the radio advert below.
